Let’s deep dive into the mantra or “affirmation”, I declared just weeks before my birthday on someone’s Instagram post: (I may be alone, but) “I am never without love.” Post-breakup after a long term relationship, I really thought I’d never open up to love again but I quickly realized in the following months up until my epiphany that I was looking at love wrong thanks to society, the patriarchy, and the overload of Valentine’s Day promotion that will soon hit our devices at hyper speed.
