On this week's episode of eJEWcation, we start a multi-week series explaining the life of a Jew, from birth to death, starting with the more joyous side of the timeline, birth. Rabbi Perlmutter explains why the Bible commands Jews to be "fruitful and multiply," why Jews "snip the tip" of their boys, what the career path to becoming a mohel is (in case anyone in the audience is looking for a career change), and the importance of Hebrew names. For the parsha, we discussed G-d pressing the reset button on his Nintendo (am I dating myself?), better known as Noah's Ark. We'll talk about why people in the Bible lived to be so old and why G-d eventually decided to put an age limit on them, why Jews being too fruitful might have caused the flood, and why one of the first things Noah did after the flood was get drunk (I mean, can you really blame him?).
