I ‘officially’ launched Nesian News (here’s the story behind it...) | Ep 50

Let’s be honest… the only Polynesian you know is from Chik-fil-a Okay. Maybe not. (but can you see my point?) There’s not many of us. Most of our stories go untold — and I’m changing that with something BIG! Imagine if you knew EVERY successful Polynesian out there. They’ll give you 1:1 mentorship, advice, lessons, and more. That’s what I’m building. Yesterday, I ‘officially’ launched Nesian News. Here’s the story behind it… Every day I meet cool Polynesians doing BIG things: lawyers, investors, entrepreneurs, engineers — but there was a problem. No one knows them. So I did the first thing I could think of. I connected them to each other. It was like clockwork. Cold LinkedIn connect → call → intro → repeat. Most calls went like this… Intro Getting to know each other. How are you? Where you from? etc. Ask Questions Diving into their story and career. What’s your story? How did you end up doing X? etc. It’s the most important part of the call. I’m looking to see how I can GIVE VALUE. “Oh you’re doing X. I know a Samoan doing that same thing” “You live in X. Lemme connect you with another Tongan out there.” “You’re looking for X. I know some people who might help.” Post-Call Making intros and connecting Polynesians to each other. It worked… but I wanted a better way. Some way to connect Polynesians and share their stories with the world. Then it hit me! The Almanack of Naval Ravitkant. (highly recommend!) It’s wisdom from Naval Ravikant. An entrepreneur, philosopher, and investor GENIUS. Leverage. What’s leverage? It’s efficiency/productivity. Getting the most out of what you put in. A 47-minute podcast or a 3-page blog post lives on the internet FOREVER! Doesn’t matter if 13 people consume it or 52,000. The plan is to keep doing what I’m doing (with a slight twist).
