Dan Kester was a junior tennis player who also played on his University of North Carolina club team. His career path was in retail and he was an executive a national department store chain. Kester decided to combine his passion for tennis and sales. Living in Atlanta, known as the biggest tennis town in the country, he opened his store I Play Tennis. He welcomes a wide variety of clientele, including the local LGBQT+ community. David Yamane, of Big Time Tennis in Winston-Salem, N.C., was named the 2014 Racquet Sports Industry Stringer of the Year. He is the leading stringer for the Winston-Salem Open, an ATP Tour event. He talks about stringing along with giving advice to recreational players. In our highlights are Jimin Jung, a top junior from Cary, N.C., and the Parks & Recreation Department of the city of Southaven, Miss.
