“Disarming Hezbollah” is a poison pill in the negotiations. Hezbollah is a popular and intricate part of the Lebanese government and when they are actively being attacked many in Lebanon see them as the only entity which will protect them. The idea that if Hezbollah leaves Israel will be satisfied with a small part of South Lebanon is delusional. If history and common sense aren’t enough to convince you, just listen to what Israel is saying.
