I Spent 35 Years Making Shows — Now I Can't Stop Seeing Church as One
from The Jeff Adams Show · host Revivalist Media
I Spent 35 Years Making Shows — Now I Can't Stop Seeing Church as One Honest faith, church hurt, and feeling disconnected from the modern church — that's what this one's about. I spent 35 years in the entertainment industry (record labels, radio, TV, live streaming, podcasting), and somewhere along the way it wrecked how I experience church. Last year I traveled with a worship artist to church after church, and I couldn't turn my brain off: the eight-camera shoots, the click tracks, the light shows, the same service run seven times in a day. I started watching the production instead of worshipping. In this episode I get honest about why the modern church became a struggle for me, the tiny off-the-beaten-path church where I actually found God again, and the thing I still can't shake — that after all of it, I've never found my community. This isn't a church-bashing video. There's no right or wrong way to worship. It's one guy, wired a certain way, telling the truth about faith, doubt, and looking for real community at 53. If you've felt disconnected in church, felt more exhausted leaving than you did walking in, or you're single or divorced and the "family unit" church culture never had a seat for you — you're not alone. That's what this channel is now: honest faith, church culture, entertainment, and the occasional dive into the weird stuff.
