After a long journey by boat through the Amazon River and its tributaries, I visited a local family, shared a home-cooked meal with them, and learned about daily life in one of the most remote places I've ever visited.I also had the opportunity to tour a jungle school and speak directly with the students about their lives, their dreams for the future, and how life in the Amazon compares to life in the United States.
