I Tested 4 Types of Oats: Which Are Good… and Which Are Bad?

from Biblical Nutrition Academy Podcast

I Tested 4 Types of Oats — Which Are Good and Which to Avoid   Oats are one of the most common breakfast foods, but not all oats are created equal. In this episode, Annette reveals what she discovered after testing four popular types of oats — and which one delivers the best nutrition, taste, and digestion. You'll also learn how to choose clean, affordable oats that align with God's design for health.   The Truth About Oats and Nutrition   Oats are packed with B vitamins, vitamin E, magnesium, zinc, and fiber that help lower cholesterol, balance hormones, and reduce stress. But there's one big problem — many oats are sprayed with harmful chemicals like glyphosate and chloroquat. Annette shares how to avoid these toxins by buying unsprayed oat groats and preparing them at home. When eaten as God designed, oats can support gut health, heart function, and even help prevent diabetes and cancer.   The Experiment: 4 Types of Oats Compared   Annette compares old-fashioned rolled oats, steel-cut oats, instant oatmeal packets, and freshly flaked oats made from whole oat groats. Using a simple enzyme test, she demonstrates how freshly flaked oats digest faster, absorb better, and provide more nutrients than processed ones. Store-bought oats, especially flavored packets, remain partly undigested and lose most of their natural oils and vitamin E.   Why Freshly Flaked Oats Are Best   Flaking your own oats at home keeps all the fiber, minerals, and antioxidants intact. It also helps you save money, stretch meals, and store food longer. Freshly flaked oats cook faster, taste better, and are gentle on the digestive system. Annette explains how to use oats in bread, cookies, soups, burgers, granola, and even smoothies to nourish your family affordably and naturally.   Eat the Way God Designed   When you choose foods in their purest form, your body responds with healing and energy. Oats are one of God's good foods — but only when eaten the way He made them. Skip the processed packets and start flaking your own for real nutrition, satisfaction, and stewardship of your health.   ==   Did this episode bless you?   We are grateful for the support of our ministry partners, whose kindness and generosity make teachings like this possible.
