I Wait for Your Salvation, O Lord

Compromise often begins by taking an easier path instead of trusting and obeying God. Jacob’s cry rises amid memories of his own deceit, his son Dan’s serpent image, and the tribe’s later idolatry. The serpent who tempted Adam and Eve works through such compromise, while Dan’s absence from the list of God’s people in Revelation 7 gives the warning its final weight.
