I Want to Do Substack From the Road in 2026

I remember that expression from my Dad preaching it from the pulpit: “The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”Damn, I feel that in my bones. I often feel like I’m living the Bill Murray movie “Groundhog Day” much of the time. I stay in my lane, sticking to my routine. So much so that it starts feeling like I’ll never reach my goals, though I’m working so hard to make them happen.Anyone else relate to that shit?When I spend 12-15 hours daily in my bedroom writing, podcasting, reading, and doing all of the behind-the-scenes stuff to grow my Substack following, it doesn’t leave much time for regular things. I miss out on much of life lately by being a hermit. Though I love what I do for a living and it’s easy to sit around with Mooch all day, I realize that we both should be doing more. No wonder she loves car rides so much. It breaks up the monotony of our day.In today’s podcast episode, I talk about the need to change things up a bit to make my goals and dreams happen. I can’t keep fixating on Substack this many hours every day of the year, thinking that the growth will eventually get me to where I want financially to be able to do this while traveling. Something has to change.I appreciate you lending me your ears. I’d love to hear your feedback about what I might be able to do differently to make this happen sooner. I’m decent a pivoting a bit, but sometimes, we need bigger, riskier moves to make things happen.I know that my Mouthy Militia will be here for it, regardless of how many twists and turns my Writer’s Journey takes.
