Today we bring you an episode from Sideline Sessions with trailblazing track & field coach Sue Humphrey, author of I Want to Run: The Olympic Developmental Training and Nutritional Guide For Young & Teen Track Runners Ages 10 To 18.In the early 1970s, after Title IX was enacted, she originated the women’s track program at Arizona State University. She also has coached at the University of Texas and California State University - Long Beach. Sue is the only female coach to have coached NCAA champions in the long jump, triple jump, and high jump.Sue also coached for Team USA at the Olympics 3 times, including as Head Women’s Track & Field Coach in 2004.
