I Went to Lynyrd Skynyrd Looking for Racism

Hey Everyone.Happy Weekend to you all. I hope things are going well on this fine Saturday afternoon. Weekends for most are full of fun, rest, friends, family, and special events.Such was the case last night for me. My daughter invited me to go see Lynyrd Skynyrd with her. I was thrilled to be invited. We don’t do as much one-on-one fun stuff as we used to. She’s a busy college student and a hard worker at her job. As we grow older, life happens. Things get set aside so often by the necessities of our situations. But for one night, we had a wonderful time, just the two of us.I had an ulterior motive for wanting to go see Skynyrd, besides enjoying great music. I also wanted to see if I’d witness any racism while attending the show. They’re from the Deep South and have notoriously used the Confederate flag in their shows during the band’s 50-year history.In today’s episode, I talk about what I saw and heard. Not just from the band, but from the crowd, as well. Living in a very red state, I had an idea of what I could expect. But I was surprised. You might be, too.
