It's not our favorite part, but failure, disappointment and heartbreak are a part of life. As parents, it's our job to support our teens when they face it, and teach them how to navigate through. It's very easy to celebrate the victories with them, but it's a lot harder to guide them through the losses. Whether they don’t make a sports team or they get rejected by a college or they get their heart broken by a boyfriend or a girlfriend or a friend, our instinct is to protect them from failure, shield them from heartbreak. Instead, we need to teach them how, to be by their side with compassion, and help them find the perseverance and resilience that comes from navigating their way through the hurt and disappointment.Thank you for listening and being part of this community!
