Nine miles up Route Twenty-Two, past Toll Creek, there is a laundromat that never closes. The sign only keeps half of itself lit. The interstate took all the daytime traffic years ago, so after midnight the only customers left are the ones who need to wash the evidence of what they are out of the only clothes that let them pass for human. I run the booth.
