Iain Dale 20/5/15 interviews Jon Brown of @NSPCC - 'why weren't you aware of this? Has the NSPCC failed?'

An interview with Jon Brown of the NSPCC's head of sexual abuse programmes. (What does it mean?) Mr Brown repeatedly informs us that victims are coming forward in greater numbers. What Mr Brown seems unkeen to address is early intervention in Regulated Activities and staff reluctance to report abuse. Within this contribution Mr Brown asserts there has been a change of culture which implies 'its all different now' and perhaps therefore the pressing need to address child protection in RA's has been averted. If this is the case, the narrative is wrong. Perhaps to give the Government a proposal it is willing to accept while simultaneously enabling the NSPCC to misleadingly claim it promotes and supports #MR.
