Ian Daguman — The Miracle: The Announcement of the Birth of the Christ

The coming of the Christ has been promised from the first few pages. Matthew’s narrative brings to the fore the angel of the Lord in a dream and the message of the coming of the Christ, Jesus. This out-of-the-ordinary way of receiving the message highlights the divine fulfillment of the long-promised Christ. Luke, seemingly in line with his predilection to highlight women, highlights the angelic visitation to Mary and the favor of God that ultimately points to the grace of God to the world through the Christ.
