In the Republican primary, Ramesh Cherivirala faces off against Dan Mathews and Moid “Mike” Khan; a first run for State office for all three. Cherivirala is a financial advisor who has been involved in community organizations and philanthropy for over 30 years. He explains what led him to run for office. 4:50 pm Judge Michael Newman is the presiding judge of Harris County Probate Court No. 2. As an attorney and Judge, he has handled over 5,000 contested hearings, represented thousands of clients and has conducted over 110 trials. He is currently running for re-election. He was on our show on January 15, but we realized there were so many more probate issues to discuss that we asked him back again today. 5:20 pm The 216 feet tall Ramanujacharya statue located near Hyderabad International Airport was formally inaugurated by Indian Prime Minister Modi earlier today. The family of Dr Ravi Tamirisa has been involved in the building of the statue from conception. They have also been the founding force behind the Ashtalakshmi Temple in Houston as well as keen supporters of other cultural and religious organizations. Dr. Tamirisa joins us to describe how the Statue of Equality was built.
