Earlier this year, the movie “The Kashmir Files” brought the plight of the Hindu Pandits to a worldwide audience that was not aware of the atrocities. We asked local Kashmir expert Ashok Moza to tell us how security, economy and safety have changed three years later. 5:00 pm In just over two decades, Anita Jaisinghani has metamorphosed from a pastry chef at Cafe Anne to having her own restaurant “Indika” in Montrose to having one of the hippest eateries “Pondicherri” on Upper Kirby. She has also written Indian recipes each Wednesday in the Houston Chronicle and has been featured on our show twice before. Now, she has just released “Masala”, a book of about the ingredients in Indian cuisine with descriptions of many recipes and it is available in her restaurant. We talk with her on what motivated her to let out the secrets of her trade. 5:20 pm Ganesh Chaturti is being celebrated by Indians all across the world and in many temples and venues in Houston. The Sanatan Shiv Shakti Mandir marks it with 10 days of celebration from Aug 31 to Sep 9 and we asked the senior Priest Pandit Hardik Raval to explain the festival, its origin and significance.
