In Houston City Council District G there are two candidates seeking to unseat Mary Nan Huffman who is seeking re-election. Among the challengers is Tony Buzbee, a high-powered attorney who has become widely known for winning high-profile cases like the recent one against Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton. Tony ran for Houston Mayor in 2019 but lost to Sylvester Turner. He joins us now to explain why he is seeking the District G position and what he hopes to accomplish. 4:50 pm Also at stake is the position for Mayor of the area’s largest city, Houston. A crowded field of 17 candidates are running for this position, and among the fore runners are two well-known names – both Democrats – who have served the Bayou City well for nearly three decades. We are joined by incumbent US Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee who announced her candidacy in March, and if she wins, will return to the halls of Houston City Council where she started her political career in 1989. She is well admired for her love for the city and her progressive voting record and as champion of civil rights. She calls in to explain why she is the better candidate for Houston Mayor.   5:20 pm We are joined for our monthly feature on immigration issues with well-known attorney George Willy who will talk about the EB-1A visa which is an immigrant classification that qualifies for a green card for the applicant, their spouse, and children. The applicant must be able to demonstrate extraordinary ability in the sciences, arts, education, business, or athletics.
