IBAHpod #10: Special guest "Chou" (Helene's brother)

Our guest today is Helene's older brother, "Chou". It's almost a follow on from #9 in that it continues the sibling theme, but this time with a bit of a twist. Despite the fact that in his younger years he tried dating women, Chou always knew he was attracted to men. When he finally got around to coming out to his family (well when he was forced by their quite formidable oldest sister...!), he recruited the support of the entire family, especially his siblings. We get into what it's like coming out to your parents in an asian family (which is a lot like an intervention it seems), we learn that they might not be as traditional underneath the surface as people may think, and we look at how powerful the love and loyalty of the people closest to you growing up can really be in tackling the most complex of problems. We also discover we may need to do a video special with Helene's sister (complete with subtitles as she only really speaks French!). Turns out she might be the absolute leader where family matters are concerned... It's a very personal episode, but we think it's one that you'll all enjoy.
