Ice on Mars

from Polar Times · host APECS

Welcome back to Polar Times! Today, we are leaving our cosy planet for a moment and we follow our guest to Mars. Your host Alexandra is joined by Nanna Karlsson from the Geological Suvery of Denmark and Greenland. Nanna chats about her career which started in planetary sciences with a focus on glacier ice on Mars. We talk about in which sense glacier ice on Mars is similar to glaciers in Antarctica and how planetary science can benefit from polar science in many ways. Nanna chats about how her career took her to many different places in Antarctica and Greenland, and how she ended up as a glaciologist. We also talk about inclusivity in science and what difficulties you can have in polar research, especially as a woman. Nanna also gives valuable advice on how to pursue a career in science. Barnum. Some laws teach the need for prudence (“Law 1: Never Outshine the Master”), others teach the value of confidence (“Law 28: Enter Action with Boldness”), and many recommend absolute self-preservation (“Law 15: Crush Your Enemy Totally”). I'm a teacher, author, nature lover and for ten years I owned a coffeehouse cafe where my faith in the goodness of humans was restored every day. This podcast highlights the awesomeness of humanity - er...outside the warmongers, globalists, tyrants and politicians in general. You know, the rest of us weird, quirky and sometimes hilarious humans. We'll talk woo, probe mysteries and leave you thinking about something more interesting or entertaining or uplifting than your grocery list, or boss or that oil change your car needs. I talk too much because I can't help my Gemini moon and Leo Rising nature. I do a podcast because it's cheaper, funnier and more productive than therapy. My Messy, Human Life Sheena Grund A new adventure of being alive in this messy, difficult, and beautiful human life... topics to be discussed at different times: life, unlearning, disability, faith, love, Spirit... really all the things! It'll be messy (as in all over the place), but that literally in the title of the podcast, so hopefully it's not a surprise! Also, life is unpredictable and beautiful, which I hope this podcast will be, too. Who Am I? Air Kraehmer Best known for her award-winning books about therapy, spirituality and her testimony of overcoming human trafficking, Air shares her walk of life with survivors all over the world. This podcast is dedicated to help you discover who you are through dark, happy and elevating times.
