Iconic Ferris wheel at former Wonderland Pier site to be torn down

It's the end of the line for a landmark at the shore. The Ferris wheel at the former Gillian's Wonderland Pier in Ocean City will be torn down. The property developer, Eustace Mita, says there are safety concerns over deteriorating conditions at the site. He had hoped to make the Ferris wheel part of a resort hotel he wants to build. But, Mita says, salt air and repairs over the years have made it impossible to preserve it. (Photo by Al Drago/Getty Images)
