http://joy.org.au/danoandmason/wp-content/uploads/sites/329/2018/05/idahobit.mp3 Joined by an assortment of guests including Deputy Labor Leader Tanya Plibersek MP, Victorian Minister for Equality Martin Foley MP, Australian Greens Senator Janet Rice, Victoria’s first Gender and Sexuality Commissioner Ro Allen, as well as some JOY favourites, we get into the nitty gritty of what IDAHOBIT means for Australia, and what our next steps towards equality will be. On May 17 people all over Australia stand against discrimination in support of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, and queer (LGBTIQ) mates, colleagues and families. On May 17, 1990, the World Health Assembly of the World Health Organization approved the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems (ICD 10), which no longer listed homosexuality as a diagnosis. International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersexism and Transphobia aims to coordinate international events that raise awareness. The celebrations launched in 2004, and in 2013, commemorations took place in almost 120 countries, in all world regions.
