Identifying Antichrist(s) (1 John 2:18-25)

This sermon on 1 John 2:18-25 seeks to contextualize the passage and show us the meaning that it carried for the original audience. They were being warned about present day (relative to them) antichrist’s and about an antichrist who would soon come (to them). John’s language helps us to make 1st century identifications of these figures that were actually relevant to his readers, and it helps us to avoid unhelpful and heretofore inaccurate predictions of these figures in our future.
