Send us Fan MailIt happens to the most vulnerable among us – we’re talking elder abuse, which unfortunately, is on the rise - rates worsened by the COVID-19 pandemic and our aging population. Abuse can occur in facilities and at home. It does not discriminate. What is elder abuse? What are the signs, and why is it happening? And you might be surprised to learn who’s abusing older people the most. We should all be concerned. June is National Elder Abuse Awareness Month. But it’s a subject matter that needs to be discussed and monitored throughout the year, perhaps daily. And that’s where the National Council on Aging, and its advocacy work comes in.
