Identity Matters #5: Repentance (Part One)

Repentance is the most uncommon and least used phase of most “Christian” counselors. Many counselees come in with thoughts like “I need help with my marriage” and what does the “counselor” do? Goes after the marriage issues of course! Some will work to define the hidden issues behind a broken marriage but few actually use the issues to lead the DE (disciplee) to repentance. Repentance you say, yes – repentance. Most people helpers are focused on fixing the fix that God fixed on His children to fix them trying to fix themselves and others. This is a public episode.
