IEC writes to SAFA

The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) has finally written a letter to SAFA giving them the reasons why they have decided to opt out of overseeing next week’s elections. This follows the letter they sent to SAFA Presidential candidate Andile “Ace” Ncobo’s lawyers last week. According to the IEC, they were appointed by SAFA in August 2013 as the Electoral Committee and that term expired in August last year. Ncobo says the IEC’s decision to pull out now also brings to question the status of the 2013 SAFA elective congress
