If It Walks Like a Duck and it Quacks Like a Duck, It Might Be Testis Cancer

from The Armor Men's Health Show · host Dr. Sandeep Mistry and Donna Lee

Thanks for tuning in to the Armor Men’s Health Hour Podcast today, where we bring you the latest and greatest in urology care and the best urology humor out there. In this segment, Dr. Mistry and Donna Lee discuss testis cancer. Most common in men under the age of 25 and over the age of 65, testis cancer usually presents with an enlarged mass in the testicle. In general, a painful testicle is a sign of infections such as epididymitis, whereas testis cancer is not typically painful. Removal of the affected testicle or testicles may cause issues with the prostate, so Dr. Mistry and Donna Lee also discuss the available options for symptoms associated with prostate problems. Some of these options include the Urolift procedure, prostate artery embolization, and Axonics neuromodulation, which utilizes a small electrical impulse that acts like a pacemaker for the bladder and helps with refractory urgency and frequency syndromes, interstitial cystitis, and fecal incontinence. It can also be used in an off-label way to treat premature ejaculation and chronic pelvic pain. The main advantage of the Axonics neuromodulation procedure is that it eliminates the need for medications which often have unpleasant side effects. The procedure can be done in the office or hospital and is generally covered by insurance. If you or a loved one is experiencing urinary or fecal incontinence or if you have discovered a lump or other problem in/with your testicle, please give us a call. If you enjoyed today’s episode, don’t forget to like, subscribe, and share us with a friend!
