If Only....I Will Follow

Even after faith in Christ, time in the Word, and growing in our relationship with God, we can find ourselves wishing for a sign of God’s power in our lives. Can you relate to these whispers of “if only…” in your heart? If only God would… • Save my spouse. • Heal my sickness. • Take away my struggle. • Give me a better job. • Bless my family… These requests are usually accompanied by our promises of obedience, devotion, or the elimination of doubt. You might bargain with God, “If only God gave me this sign (answered this prayer), then I would know I could trust Him… then I would devote my life to follow Him… then I would proclaim Him to others."But even if God answered these requests… would we truly be satisfied? Join us as we look at these same whispers in the hearts of the disciples who ask Jesus for a sign at the last supper, to prove he is God, with the promise they will continue to believe when he leaves.
