Reality: - 70% of the recent job gains were in government, healthcare, and hospitality - Unemployment for college grads is actually rising - IT sector unemployment rate is 4.3% (up from 3.8%) - Competition is incredibly fierce for each white collar job opening True to form, the media is telling a story that's only half the picture. The simple fact of the matter is that, for white collar / knowledge workers, you're not really in the driver's seat anymore. (But there are things you can do to improve your chances.)
