If We Have Another Civil War

These days, it feels like the United States of America is on its way to becoming the Divided States of America in the near-term. Each half of the country possesses a collective distrust and even contempt for the other, and diplomatic negotiations seem to have broken down. I want to lay out a couple of scenarios for what may happen in the days, weeks, months, and years ahead. Regardless what actually happens, however, we need to make up our minds about what if anything is worth fighting for.
