If You Can't Stand The Heat (on a cold day!)
from CiTR -- The Saturday Edge · host CiTR & Discorder Magazine
Features on Cape Breton band Coig, whose new CD comes out next week. I had a pre-release copy so played a few tracks and had a nice chat with one of the band members, fiddler / singer Rachel Davis. Also looked ahead to a hot night of bluegrass / jam band action with Frank Solivan and Dirty Kitchen. Played a lot of women's music (notably new CD by Layla McCalla, and her collaboration with Allison Russell, Rhiannon Giddens and Amythyst Kiah (Our Native Daughters) and quite a bit of Celtic music to get warmed up St. Patrick's Day next week!
