A new study called, ISCHEMIA (International Study of Comparative Health Effectiveness With Medical and Invasive Approaches) looked at medical management vs. invasive treatment (angioplasty or bypass surgery) in patients with stable angina. The study hoped to answer the questions: Does invasive treatment prevent heart attack or other bad endpoints? And does it reduce symptoms?
