The example of Elijah stands as a prophetic symbol of the posture we must recover: one of burning, unwavering pursuit.Elijah’s heart was consumed by the presence and honor of God. He lived in alignment with God’s voice, not the approval of men. He confronted false altars, rebuilt the true altar of the Lord (1 Kings 18:30), and walked with a sensitivity that allowed him to hear the “still small voice” (1 Kings 19:12). His life was a continual offering.
