We are faced with the most stereotypes that they have come to define us before we even open our mouths to speak. And even if we did speak the first thing we say that pairs a said stereotype them we are what they believe us to be. We move through life trying not to fall victim to the various stereotypes and statistics that come with being black in America. No matter what part of life it is American society has made living while black in America stereotypical living. Why do black women not like when black men date white women? The beauty spectrum - Men (How men are viewed in society) - Women (How women are viewed in society) The beauty spectrum is one that exists worldwide and constantly attacks melanin beauty. This is why we have melanin people trying to bleach their skin to make their appearance fairer. We see it everyday without truly acknowledging what’s really going on. With toys and the so called “beauty” we see flaunted on TV, videos, modeling, and so much more society has really painted who is beautiful and who is not. Men are more of an implicit spectrum but women are so explicitly put on the beauty spectrum its crazy. Join the conversation as we dissect the beauty spectrum for both men and women. Love Doubting ones self when it comes to love and dating in our early 20s. What type of lover are you? Do you know how to give and receive love? Are you in a position to fall in love? Do we take being in a relationship to seriously in our 20s? And what happens when you meet someone that you like but you’re not on the same page they may want more from you than you’re willing to give? You can only love someone to the complicity that you love yourself so are you giving the same Energy to working on the inside as you’re giving to being in a partnership for the outside world? Why do you think we focus little to no energy and loving ourselves? Most importantly what does life look like down the road when you have not practiced a loving yourself and setting boundaries and limitations for the people that you allowed to be a part of your life (partner). Because we all know those people that we say will never grow up to be.
