Il Caimano and The Beginning with Patrick Cotnoir
from Cannes I Kick It Hosted by Cannes I Kick It
What does it take to get a movie made? This is question we explore through our return to Cannes 2006 with Nanni Moretti’s story of a down on his luck Italian film producer, IL CAIMANO. Joining us is producer in his own right, of the George Lucas Talk Show, Patrick Cotnoir! We get into the tonal whiplash, the COMEY RULE of it all, and all admit how little we know about the Italian film industry and Italian political history. The natural segue then is to talk about THE BEGINNING, the making of documentary about STAR WARS EPISODE I: THE PHANTOM MENACE which originally came on the DVD. Rick McCallum, Ewan McGregor, John Williams, and the joys and the cringe of a Behind The Scenes project are all on the table. All that and a special shoutout to the #BTSArmy! PLEASE Follow Patrick @patrickcotnoir Our twitter is @CannesIKickIt Our letterboxd is CIKIPod Enjoying the show? Feel free to send a few bucks our way on Ko-fi.
