The pet project of renowned Nintendo director Shigeru Miyamoto, Pikmin was inspired by the sight of ants walking in unison in his garden. Developed for the Game Cube by Nintendo EAD and published by Nintendo, it is a unique narrative puzzle game where you play as Captain Olimar, a tiny space-traveling captain who has crash landed on a mysterious planet and needs the help of tiny creatures called Pikmin to repair his ship and return home.
