Illegale Autorennen in Berlin 01.02.2016, mitten in der Nacht: Zwei junge Männer rasen mit bis zu 160 km/h über den Ku’damm. Sie überfahren 10 rote Ampeln. Nach der 11. kommt es zum Crash. Michael Warshitsky, ein 69jähriger Arzt und Vater zweier Kinder, fährt gerade nach Hause, als einer der beiden Raser in seinen Jeep hineinrast. Warshitsky hat keine Chance zu überleben. Die Fahrer wurden bundesweit als Ku’dammraser bekannt. Einer von Ihnen wird später wegen versuchten Mordes verurteilt. Der andere wegen Mordes. Seit 2017 gelten illegale Autorennen als Straftat, doch die Raser – die meisten von ihnen junge Männer - scheint das nicht abzuschrecken, im Gegenteil: Die Zahl illegaler Autorennen steigt in Berlin seit Jahren. Das Phänomen ist vielschichtig und wirft viele Fragen auf: Wo bekommen junge Männer die Autos für solche Rennen her? Was haben diese Rennen mit kriminellen Strukturen, komplizierten Firmengeflechten und mit Geldwäsche zu tun? Und welche Verantwortung trägt die Autoindustrie?
