ILP 24: Dana Smith On Moving To A New City, Starting A New Life After Divorce, Launching A New Business, Getting Out Of Debt, And Not Allowing Roadblocks To Stop You From Achieving Your Goals

Dana, a licensed North Carolina Adult Care Home Administrator, is also a licensed pharmacist in North and South Carolina and has practiced in retail, clinical and long term care settings. She has been a consultant pharmacist for 3 long term care pharmacies and has been a certified immunization pharmacist since 2011. She has partnered with and operated assisted living homes for the geriatric and mentally ill since 2000. She has been a preceptor for pharmacy and nursing students and is also approved by the Division of Health and Human Services as an Administrator-in –Training (AIT) Preceptor. She was designated as a certified dementia specialist in 2014 and serves as an Alzheimer’s Foundation Screener for dementia. Currently, Dana serves on two teams and leads a small group for her church, serves as a board member for the Elizabeth City Chamber of Commerce and Elder Help, Inc, a non-profit serving the elderly, disabled and families in a 5 county region.
