ILP 29: Blair Proffit On Success With Arbonne, Taking Risks, Balancing Three Kids And Husband, Refusing To Stay Stuck, And Fulfilling Big Dreams

from THE HOLY SHIFT PODCAST WITH SCOTT NEAL · host Scott Neal

Blair Proffit of Elizabeth City, North Carolina launched her business in early 2012. As a military wife, located in New Orleans, Louisiana at the time she was trying to figure out a way to replace a full time income that would allow her to stay at home when her daughter arrived that fall. After working in cooperate America for several years with a degree in Fashion Merchandising she was burnt out with relocations but also exhausted working full time. She found herself unable to spend time with friends and family because her schedule was so demanding. Soon, she realized the Arbonne opportunity could offer much more than she could have ever imagined. "I started with the goal of earning some extra money to pay off debts and save a little to allow me to stay at home temporarily. It turned out that I would never have to return to the work force again. In the beginning, I struggled with the belief that I could really build a successful business with Arbonne. The business model is not at all traditional and is also different from what I always believed to be the "normal way of life". I imagined my only option was to go to college, get a job and retire at 65, if I was one of the lucky ones. But very quickly, I learned to see things differently and realized that this opportunity would not only change my life but it could also help others become successful as well. I no longer have the anxiety of alarm clocks or vacation days. I am able to fit work into my life but never have to make it a priority over what really matters to me. I have also allowed my husband the option of retiring when he wants to, not when the military tells him to."
