I'm Going to Hid Behind the Mountain - Inspired by Eva Wilson (My Great Grandmother)

When I was young, my great-grandmother, Eva Wilson, would sing an old gospel hymn: “I am going to hide behind the mountain, where the chilly winds don’t blow.” As a child I did not understand the meaning of her song, but now that she has passed, those words wrap around my heart like a gentle hand.She taught me, without saying much, where to find rest: in the shelter of faith. Jesus became my Mountain—the place I retreat when life’s winds grow cold and fierce. In that refuge I find strength, peace, and the courage to carry on.I will miss her voice and the comfort of her song, but I am grateful for the faith she passed down. Her melody lives on in me, guiding me to that quiet place behind the Mountain where I am renewed. This is a public episode.
