I’m Gonna Let It Shine

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today. In the famous Sermon on the Mount, Jesus tells His disciples, “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.[…]In the same way, let your light shine before others.” Well, that’s a big responsibility! When people look at us, they should see the light of Jesus shining through. It reminds me of an age old song taught in Sunday school: “This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine…” Well, how do we shine for Jesus? Firstly, we need to continually grow in Him. As we are sharpened and shaped to be more like Christ, we reflect who He is. But it can’t stop there. We not only need to become more like Jesus; we also need to tell others about what He has done for us on the cross.
