I'm Not Close With Very Many Blood Relatives

from The Renegade Writer's Mouthy Musings · host The Mouthy Renegade Writer

It’s sort of weird that I’m not close to so many of my immediate and extended family members.Well, that is, until I think about why that is. And much of the reason stems from my strict “No-MAGA” policy when it comes to people whom I choose to trust or even spend my time around. I have no patience for those who are racist, bigoted, sexist, or homophobic. Sadly, that’s roughly 2/3 of my family, based on their voting patterns and behaviors. And though it’s sort of odd that I haven’t seen a lot of my family for years or even decades, I stand behind my decision. I’d rather invest my time in better people. Those of my choosing. The ones who have good manners, are kind-hearted, and are accepting of diverse people. I adore those who are good human beings.I talk about this in today’s podcast episode. I refuse to feel bad about not giving my valuable time to shitty human beings who still support a child-raping president who does nothing but break the law and talk like a fool. Those relatives are not welcome in my home.I’d love to know if you can relate to this. Thank you for lending me your ears. I’m looking forward to reading your comments on this topic.© 2026 The Mouthy Renegade Writer. All rights reserved.Mooch wants to give you all half-off discounts on paid subscriptions today.
