I'm not the only one critical of this commission...
from KELY 1230AM/98.5 FM News and Commentary · host Wyatt Cox
I'm not the only one critical of this County Commission. Denise McLean said it best... I must hand it to you. These meetings are never boring. Some counties use this time for serious discussion and problem-solving. We, on the other hand, seem to be running a variety show. Part Improv, part reality TV and with a middle school debate club mixed in. Honestly, if it weren't our tax dollars on the line, it would be funny. Let's start with preparation. Or more accurately, the lack of it. Most people show up to work ready. They've read their materials, listen to experts, and come with ideas. Here we get a lot of guessing, stalling, and yes, the famous glasses routine. At this point, those lenses have been cleaned so many times that they could do surgery with them. But somehow the county's vision still isn't any clearer. Then there's the way staff and even the chairman are treated. I can only imagine how motivating it must be to work hard all week, only to be undermined in public by commissioners who seem more interested in settling personal grudges than running a county. That's not leadership. That's theater. Bad theater.Different opinions are always welcome...
