I’m not very happy with you right now

I'm not very happy with you right now, I don't know how many times I heard that as a kid when I was growing up about the fact that my role in life was to make my parents happy. Well, at some point, I suppose I needed to follow the rules. But was it really about making them happy? What's the difference between happiness and disliking something or liking something? We often get happiness mixed up with something that really isn't. Happiness isn't about the fact that I'm happy because you're doing what I want. Happiness is because what we're doing makes me happy. Do you see the difference here? What we're doing makes me happy. I'm happy because we're doing something that feels fulfilling to me. You're not making me happy. Because you can't do anything about my happiness. I get to choose by the way I'm talking to myself about or what I'm projecting onto the situation, or the story. I'm telling myself about what's happening. I had happiness this weekend, as I was spending time with my family at the ocean. They didn't make me happy. I was happy because I was with them. And it was a pleasant event. I might have disliked some of the things that were going on. But it didn't mean that it wasn't happy for me to be there with them over the weekend. We need to learn to redefine happiness in a way that actually makes it more palatable. So are you happy or do you just dislike some of the things that are happening? I love you. I'm Dan Clark.
