After 36 years of teaching, she retired in 2019 to focus on promoting love through her company, Dr. Katherine E. James, PLLC, as a Self-Love coach and Soul Midwife. An associate pastor at Shiloh Deliverance Church International for over 30 years, she was named the American Mental Health Counselors Association’s 2022 Counselor of the Year. She authored the books "Self-Love: A Gift You Give Yourself" and the Amazon International best seller "Freedom is Our Birthright." She also hosts the TV show "For the Love of It" and the Facebook live series "Why 5 am." Married for 40 years, she has one son and a daughter-in-love.
