Imitation | Edgar Allan Poe’s Poem of Dreams, Pride & Lost Hope

Edgar Allan Poe’s “Imitation” looks back on a private world of dreams, pride, and a bright hope that has slipped away. The speaker describes an early life shaped by visions others could not share, with memory hovering between waking thought and dream. This brief poetry reading offers the melancholy side of Poe: no pursuing monster, just the unsettling distance between a remembered inner world and the present. Listen as mystery and lost possibility take the place of a conventional ghost, in an intimate piece for lovers of Gothic poetry and reflective verse. Sponsored by HenFlix.com.
