At the beginning of the book of Exodus, we saw a “dark shadow of enslavement that lay upon the people of God, the bitter cry of bereavement as their sons were snatched from them for the river, the blows of the taskmaster, a future without hope, and the relentless, uncaring policy of genocide. They were at that time a people under the cloud … Now, at the end of the book, they were again a people under a cloud, this time the cloud of the Lord, the signal of His presence in glory, holiness and grace. Between these two clouds, the sovereign Lord of the whole earth had routed all the power of the enemy, granted His people deliverance, brought them to Himself by the blood of the lamb, graced them with his directive law, and come, in the fullness of His person, to take up residence in their midst as their indwelling God. This is the whole story of the book of Exodus.” (Motyer) We are so excited to bring this study to a conclusion by studying Exodus 40:34-38 on Sunday and seeing how God’s promise to dwell with His people comes to fruition … a text which comforts us yet also perplexes us as it points forward to a future day. Kootenai Church Morning Worship: 1 Peter Dave Rich 1 Peter was written to teach us how to remain faithful and content in the midst of the heavy trials of our mortal life on earth, this "time of your sojourn." We are taught the purpose and character of trials, seeing in them the sanctifying work of the Spirit revealing the genuineness of our God-given and, therefore, invincible, enduring faith. This series of messages was part of an exposition of the book of 1 Peter by Dave Rich, a pastor at Kootenai Community Church. Rainbow Trail, The by Zane Grey (1872 - 1939) LibriVox The Rainbow Trail is a sequel to The Riders of the Purple Sage. Both novels are notable for their protagonists' mild opposition to Mormon polygamy, but in The Rainbow Trail this theme is treated more explicitly. The plots of both books revolve around the victimization of women in the Mormon culture: events in Riders of the Purple Sage are centered on the struggle of a Mormon woman who sacrifices her wealth and social status to avoid becoming a junior wife of the head of a local church, while The Rainbow Trail contrasts the older Mormons with the rising generation of Mormon women who will not tolerate polygamy and Mormon men who do not seek it.
