Impact of Spanish elections on EU treaty, disability wish list

from Gibraltar Today

What will the impact of the Spanish elections be on Gibraltar’s treaty negotiations? The Chief Minister said it is now very unlikely that there will be a final agreement on a future relationship for Gibraltar with the EU before the general elections in Spain on the 23rd of July.Fabian Picardo said the European Commission will not agree a treaty with UK regarding Gibraltar if it does not pass muster with the Spanish government of the day when the agreement is ready to be finalised. He told Jonathan Scott on Gibraltar Today that his team will continue to work towards a final agreement, even though final agreement is now not likely to come until after the summer.Mr Picardo insisted he would have already agreed a treaty if there was an option on the table which was safe and secure for Gibraltar. He said it's not time to think more about a no negotiated outcome, adding he "will keep calm and carry on".And, Kelly-Anne Borge spoke to Debbie Borastero and Nicole Byrne about the Disability Society's election wishlist.
