I went through my adolescent life, four years of college and three years working in the business world with this negative attitude. This attitude changed to positive after I got trained as a traveling reading and study skills teacher where I learned some simple strategies that made reading more pleasurable. Now, I can’t imagine my life without dynamic and versatile reading skills. I believe smart reading skills are a set of active, mindful, and conscious strategies that allow the reader to get what they need quickly from any reading material in an efficient and effective manner. Since 1988, I have been developing and teaching simple strategies for better, smarter and faster reading. Because I believe in the power of high-quality reading, I’ve come up with the most user-friendly interactive self-paced on-demand college-level online reading course for those interested in becoming the best readers they can be. As a published expert, I am the author of three books – 10 Days to Faster Reading, The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Speed Reading and Success Skills: Strategies for Study and Lifelong Learning. I have a master’s degree in Adult Learning and consider myself a lifelong learner. For the past 30+ years, I have taught students and educators in high schools, colleges and universities, business professionals in Fortune 500 companies, associations, small businesses and government agencies, and anyone else who wanted to improve their reading abilities.  ...  00:00 Introduction, glass ceiling and self-esteem 10:28 Introduction to speed reading 21:25 How long does it take to learn speed reading? 26:09 Defining speed reading  30:50 Other strategies to speed reading 46:10 Speed reading with digital devices 53:03 Is continues practice necessary? 58:13 Speed reading tips  & Different types of clients and tactics 01:25:37 How did you become a book reading expert and book deals? 01:30:58 Transitioning to a homoeopathy career  01:43:20 Homoeopathy for migraines, periods and cramping, and stress 01:52:18 How did you get licensed? 01:54:09 Traditional medicine vs homoeopathy medicine? 01:58:40 Nice to knows about homoeopathy before diving into it 02:02:10 Advice for young entrepreneurs 02:05:50 Book recommendations, tips and closing ...   We bring inspiring startups and world-class founders on 1 stage to pitch for our Innovation Funding Award.
